Sharston House is a private nursing home situated in one of Knutsford's pleasant locations
and is less than half a mile from the very pretty town centre which is a conservation area.
Sharston House is a large Victorian house built initially as a private residence.
It has been sympathetically extended over the years to provide a comfortable and homely
environment for the residents without distracting from the architectural merits of the home.
The home is set in attractive grounds with lawned areas and many mature shrubs and trees.
There is a pleasant patio and courtyard, which in common with the rest of the
house have been designed for easy wheelchair access.
Sharston House has four separate lounges which allows residents to talk, read, watch television
or just relax. One of the lounges is at first floor level which residents with rooms
on the first floor may use.
There are single and shared rooms and all rooms have wash basins and the majority of rooms have
en suite facilities. There are a number of larger rooms which have the benefit of a small
sitting area and have french doors leading directly out to one of the garden areas. Other
facilities include assisted bathrooms with chair hoists, a Parker bath, a high capacity lift
and a further lift and a fully equipped laundry. The services of a physiotherapist, chiropodist,
dentist, optician and an occupational therapist are all available to residents in house.
Our friendly dedicated staff achieves high standards of care using professional nursing experience
to ensure that residents receive the level of care appropriate for their needs and are treated
as individuals. A plan of holistic care is formulated by a trained nurse involving both
the resident and their family and is reviewed on a regular basis. The local doctor holds a
weekly surgery in the home to support and liaise with the nursing team.
We offer long or short-term care, respite care, post operative care etc. We also have facilities
for residents' relatives to stay overnight if required.
